No grain, glycerine, sugar, colour, preservative or flavour spray. Nothing is added after drying.
- Whole kangaroo leg arrives chilled from a processor outside Ballarat, on the same grade as restaurant meat.
- It is trimmed and sliced to nine millimetres, which is what gives you a treat about the size of a thumbnail.
- Fourteen hours on racks at a low temperature, until moisture is down to nine per cent.
- Cooled, weighed, and sealed into pouches the same afternoon with a batch number on the seal.
Two years unopened in a cupboard. Once you have opened it, press the zip closed and use it within eight weeks. No need to refrigerate, though it does no harm in a humid summer.
If the treats feel softer than you expected, that is normal. We dry to nine per cent rather than snapping dry, because a soft treat is faster to eat in a training session.
